Tron - Scratch Project

tron-in-game

Scratch! Are you kidding me! Now I’ll be the first to admit that this program isn’t the most complex or difficult project out there. However it does show a few things I have picked up over the years.

First is creativity in project creation and implementation. There were no guidelines for this project. I had to come up with the game design completely on my own. As with any coding project (yes, even Scratch) there are difficulties in making all functionalities run smoothly. I had to overcome these obstacles and code through them.

Another thing that is interesting about this project is the simple bot that I programmed in. There is a player vs computer option in the game. This means that I had to program in rules to the computer to be able to avoid collision and attempt to win the game. It uses a simple strategy, but it can often hold its own.

Ultimately, while not super complicated (I did make it in middle school) this simple program highlights how much I enjoy programming in a variety of forms. For years I have enjoyed the creativity afforded in computer fields. I love opportunities to design and program something new and I enjoy the chance at facing problems and having to logic my way through them.
